Attention all students traveling to France & Italy over the March Break with the Modern Languages Department.  The mandatory parent/guardian meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Lecture Hall at Assumption College.  You and your parent/guardian must attend.  For this meeting, please bring your Health Card Number and 2 emergency telephone numbers.  Important details and information regarding Health and Safety will also be discussed at this meeting.  See Madame in room 210 if you require more information.

Attention students traveling to Germany, Switzerland, and Italy over the March Break 2020, did you submit all required forms and the permission form for the Mt. Pilatus excursion.  If you did not, this message if for you.  You must submit all forms ASAP, by the end of the week to Mrs. DiStefano or Mrs. Duffy.  The trip is fast approaching, we need all your important information and documents. 

There will be a meeting of Le Club Francais on Thursday, December 12th during both lunches in room 210.  Our guest speaker will be our very own Rise student, Jennifer Damoah.  If you would like to attend, please sign up on the door of room 210 so that arrangements can be made based on the number of people attending the meeting.  Venez au Club Francais.

Attention grade 12 students interested in applying for a Schulich Leader Scholarship.  Schulich is looking for entrepreneurial-minded innovators.  A Schulich Leader is a student who has been selected by one of Schulich’s 20 partner universities to receive $100,000.00 or $80,000.00 to pursue an undergraduate degree in an eligible STEM program.  St. John’s College can nominate one student to apply for a Schulich Leader Scholarship.  Details can be obtained in Student Services.  Applications to be a nominee are due in Student Services by Friday, January 17th, 2020.

Attention students wishing to accumulate community service hours.  Each Thursday the Knights of Columbus host a fish and chips night at the Knights of Columbus Hall which raises monies for their charitable works.  They are seeking your help on Thursdays from 4:30 – 6:30 during their fish and chip nights.  Students would assist in the kitchen and help with serving food to customers.  Interested students can contact Sean Adams of the Knights of Columbus at sadams@bhncdsb.ca.

What do all these things have income, Time Square, 9/11 Memorial Site, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park?  If you guessed that these are landmarks of New York City, that you are right.  Are you interested in sights, music, art, and the cultural life of New York City, then listen up?  Art and Music Department is planning a trip to New York City in May 2020.  If you want to know more about the New York City trip, than join us for an information meeting.  The meeting will be held today-Tuesday, November 26, in the evening at 6:30 p.m. in the upper staffroom.  At the meeting we will share with you the itinerary, cost of the trip and other details.  See you there.
