Attention graduates, The Ontario Education Justice program is awarding twenty-two (22), $1,000.00 bursaries for students pursuing a career in the justice sector and entering a program in the fall and who demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to their studies and whom are in financial need. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 27, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. For more information check out the Student Services D2L page under Scholarships and Bursaries for the OEJN Bursary.

All students planning on attending tomorrow’s Rainbow Ball at Paris High School, are asked to see Ms. Poos at the start of Junior lunch today in Room 132.

The girl’s rugby team wrapped their season Tuesday in London. They went home with a solid third place finish with 2 wins, a tie and 1 loss. Katelan D, Kyla B, Halaena B were the big scorers for the day. Camille E and Sierra T did a great job leading the team and Izzy M provided great defense. MVP’s were awarded to both Katelan D and Kyla B. Great job ladies.

There are job opportunities posted on the large bulletin board across from Student Services for students interested in getting employment experience. Take a look. 

The Boys and Girls Club of Brantford is running an employment program. Students can earn wages and bonuses while receiving employment support, training, and experience. The Skilled 4 Success 10-week program begins June 20th with part-time hours of 20 hours per week. Participants are paid $15.00 an hour and can earn a $100.00 bonus for completing training and $250.00 for completing the entire program. The Senior Boys rugby team finished the league with a 2-2 record finishing in 3rd place and qualified for a semi-final on Tuesday versus North Park at the Gretzky Centre at 4 p.m.

The Job Skills students would like to thank the St. John’s School community for all their support with the Mother’s Day Flower Sales. Your generous contributions allowed us to make an impressive $962.00 which has all gone to the Red Cross for Ukraine fund. Thank you so much for your support which is now helping the people in Ukraine.

This is the last call for students interested in attending next week’s Rainbow Ball at Park High School. The dance will host students from all Brantford high schools and will provide bussing to and from the event. See Ms. Poos in Room 135 for a permission slip.

The Brantford Fire department is pleased to announce that they will be running a special camp called “Camp Molly” for young women in grades 11 and 12 in September. This is an amazing opportunity for young ladies to participate in a variety of firefighting tasks and learn about different career opportunities within the Brantford Fire Department. This camp will take place at the Brantford Fire Department Central Service location at 60 Clarence Street in Brantford on September 15th to 18th, 2022. If you are interested in this career pathway, please see the poster in the Coop Office or on the bulletin board across from Student Services to grab the QR code for sign-up. Participation is limited to 24 girls and is open to students in the Brantford area. Application deadline is June 8th. 

Today is the final day to purchase your Mother’s Day flowers. Flowers will be sold in the Flower Shop at the library during both the junior and senior lunches. The flower plants are for $10.00 or less. Hurry to the library flower shop, get yours before they are all gone.
