Attention all students interested in attending a meeting of Le Club Francais.  There will be a meeting during both lunches on Thursday March 21st in room 210.  Our guest speaker is a former SJC student who worked in France as an Au Pair, in Montreal as a French teacher and is now in Brantford teaching at a French immersion school  Please sign up on the door of room 210 so that arrangements can be made based on the number of students attending.

Attention grade 12 students, any students who would like to write the grade 12 University of Waterloo math contest should see Mr. Todd this week in room 202.

Attention all Junior and Senior Boys Basketball players, your uniforms are due to Mr. Pomponio by today.

Boys Soccer tryouts begin after school today in the gym.  Tryouts will continue next week Monday thru Wednesday at 5 p.m.  A signed permission form is required.

Any boys in grade 9 and 10 interested in playing on the junior boys rugby team are reminded that practices begin next Monday in the gym at 6:30 p.m.

All girls interested in trying out for the Varsity Girls Soccer Team, please pick up a permission form and information outside the gym.  Also, please sign up on the sign-up sheet posted outside the gym doors.

Attention all grade 11 and 12 SHSM Sports students, please touch base with Mrs. Elliott about an upcoming field trip.  Once again, all SHSM Sports students, please see Mrs. Elliott about an upcoming field trip.

Grade 12 students interested in applying for a Stedman Foundation bursary please come to Student Services to obtain more information.  These bursaries are intended for students who might otherwise be unable to finance a post-secondary education (even with the help of OSAP).  Applications for the bursaries are due by April 30, 2019.

Attention all Junior and Senior Boys Basketball players, your uniforms are due to Mr. Pomponio by Friday, March 1st.

Any boys interested in trying out for the Varsity Boys Soccer team are to sign up outside the gym doors and pick up a permission form or see Mr. Pomponio for details.  Only those with a signed permission form will be allowed to tryout.  Tryouts begin tomorrow-Friday, March 1st at 3:15 p.m. in the school gym, and continue Monday, March 4th, Tuesday, March 5th and Wednesday, March 6th at 5 p.m. 

Any student who ordered an Italia Hoodie are invited to pick up the hoodie in room 210 during lunch or at the end of the day.

Grade 12 students expecting to graduate this June should ensure that their Community Involvement volunteer hours forms are completed in full, signed, and provided to Student Services no later than the end of this month.

Attention students who are going on the March Break Drama trip to New York City, please see Mr. Locey in room 103 as soon as possible to pick up our final information package and itinerary.

Any grade 12 students requiring a graduation photo or photo retake on February 26, 27 or 28 that has not yet received an appointment time, please see Mrs. Spiers in Student Services as soon as possible.  Also, any students who started at SJC for 2nd semester who have not yet received an appointment time to have a student ID photo taken February 28th, please see Mrs. Spiers for an appointment time.

Congratulations to the Wrestling team on a fine season.  Alex Vincze won Bronze at CWOSSA and was BCSSAA champ in his weight class.  Congratulations to Sabreena Bhular and Jonathon Desalvo on BCSSAA champs in their class, Catherine Rocchi was second at BCSSAA and Strong tournament by Ethan Rowe.  The team will be looking forward to new challenges next year.  Anyone interested in joining the team next year is encouraged to speak to Mr. Pomponio for more information.

Are you seeking summer or part time employment or volunteer hours, but don’t know where to look?  We can help.  St. Leonard’s Community Services Brant Employment Centre is hosting a job fair tomorrow Saturday, February 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the German Hall, located at 194 Henry Street, in Brantford.  This job fair is free and open to the public.  There will be lots of employers hiring for a variety of positions.  Bring lots of copies of your resume and be prepared for an on the spot interview.

Senior Boys rugby players are reminded that practices begin tonight at 8 p.m. in the gym.  Bring a mouthguard, shorts, t-shirt and running shoes.

Attention grade 9, 10 and 11 math contest writers, Tuesday is the day.  If you are writing one of the grades 9 to 11 math contests, please go to the library first thing tomorrow-Tuesday before O Canada.  The contest takes about an hour.  Bring a pencil and a calculator.  Any questions, see Mr. Todd.

At the CWOSSA meet in Baden on Wednesday, Alanna and Gabbie, had an outstanding meet and qualified for OFSSA.  Personal bests were achieved by Abigail, Tristan and Sydney .  Standouts were Adi and Luke.  Thanks to the relay members Ashley, Charlotte, Kainaat and Natalia .  Way to go Eagles.
