Attention Grade 12 students interested in applying for the Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarship Program.  Up to $10,000.00 each will be awarded to 170 students across Canada.  Students applying to university can view some details on the Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries bulletin board outside of Student Services.  Scholarship applications are due to the Program October 25, 2019.

Attention students needing to accumulate community involvement hours.  Brantwood is currently looking for volunteers at their school events, fundraising events, and programs, among other things.  Please see the opportunity posted on the board outside of Student Services.  Brantwood also welcomes co-op placements.

Are you planning on graduating in June and are interested in pursuing a college education?  Would you like to visit a popular college campus before committing to a school?  Well look no further, Mrs. Ronson is organizing a free bus trip to Fanshawe College on Wednesday, October 16th.  If you are interested, then please sign up with Mrs. Ronson in Student Services by Wednesday, October 9th.

If you are attending the blessing of the Rosary Garden today, please meet in the courtyard.  We will begin at 3:30 sharp.

Students looking to acquire some community involvement hours this coming weekend should check the Community Involvement Opportunities Board.  This Saturday, October 5th the Rotary Perch Fry is taking place at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club.  Volunteers are needed to help clear tables and serve food.  For information students should contact Cam Weir at 519-770-0625 or by e-mail at camweir17@gmail.com.  Students are reminded to complete their Community Involvement Activities purple form and hand it in to Student Services once community hours have been acquired.  It is not necessary to wait until you’ve accumulated all 40 community hours before you hand in your purple form.  Forms are available in Student Services.

The SJC Gazette newspaper crew is meeting again this Friday at 3 p.m. in Portable 6.  Remember to speak to our editors Meagan Cavin, Makayla Cavin or Merone Campbell if you have any questions about your story assignment.  And newcomers are most certainly welcome.  Make you voice heard, write for the SJC Gazette.
