Attention Graduates, here is a scholarship opportunity for students pursuing a degree related to science or technological careers. If you are accepting an offer of admission from a science or technological program and if you have an average of at least 90% in your best 6 university entrance courses subjects which includes 2 science credits, then consider picking up a yellow application from Student Services for the James Hillier Foundation Scholarship. Applications are due back to Student Services by Friday, April 29th, 2022. 

Attention students looking for community hours, the Royal City Soccer Club is looking for volunteers and volunteer counsellors-in-training. Visit royalsoccer.com for details. Also, Child Hunger Brantford is looking for volunteers to assist at a golf tournament on June 25, 2022, at the Walter Gretzky Golf Course. Contact Dawn Hall at dawnhallchb@gmail.com. Paris District High School is inviting all Brantford LGBTQ+ students and their allies to attend this year’s Rainbow Ball on May 19th. Any SJC students interested in attending are to see Ms. Poos in room 135 by Tuesday, May 3rd for details. 

Exciting news!! After two long years of our stage being dark, the SJC drama department is pleased to announce that they will be performing Ian McWethy’s,” I, Chorus” on May 10, 11 and 12th. Tickers are now being sold at the office. You can purchase your tickets from Mrs. Padmore for $5.00 for students and seniors and $10.00 for adults. If you wish you may also purchase a ticket at the door on show night. The doors open at 6:00 pm and show starts at 7:00 pm. Hope to see you there. 

Despite the rain, the SJC Ladies Varsity Soccer Team brought the thunder winning their game 10-0 Monday night against P. J. High School. 

All students who are participating on the Track and Field team, there is a mandatory meeting today for Juniors on Junior lunch in Room 165 and there is a mandatory meeting today for Seniors on Senior lunch in Room 161. Again, all students who are participating on the Track and Field team, there are mandatory meetings on both lunches today. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Koolen, Ms. McIntosh, Mrs. Elliott or Ms. Heyens. 

Attention those interested in trying out for the Junior and Senior Tennis teams. There is an QR Code sign up outside of room 203. Tryouts will begin on Monday, May 2 for Seniors and Wednesday May 4 for Juniors. Tryouts are at Dufferin Park. Please sign up and pick up a schedule and consent form outside of room 203 as soon as you can. Please see Mrs. Malecki in room 203 if you have any questions. 

Attention all girls interested in trying out for the varsity girls fastpitch team. A QR code sign ups, schedules and consent forms are available outside room 203. Tryouts will be Tuesday May 3 and Thursday May 5 at Spring Gardens Park. Please see Mrs. Malecki in room 203 if you have any questions.
